Language acquisition
Accompaniment of language acquisition
Our knowledge and skills enable us to provide professional support for the children's language acquisition. Through a variety of opportunities to speak in everyday life, the children come into contact with the spoken language at all times and can expand their language skills. Our ritualized daily routine and repetitions provide security in language acquisition. Children with a different mother tongue who come into contact with the German language for the first time in our Uni-Kitas can orient themselves on rituals and structures.
Language-promoting situations and rituals in our Uni-Kitas are:
- Singing circles
- Movement songs
- Picture book discussions
- Reading aloud
- Finger games
- Table verses
- Story rounds
- Conversations between educator and child
- Conversations among the children
Language qualification of the Uni-Kitas
In order to provide the best possible support for the children's language learning, all Uni-Kitas have completed the "Language Education" advanced training offered by the city. What we learned in the training enables us to adopt a basic language-promoting attitude towards the children and to sensitively adapt our language offerings to the individual developmental stage. Everyday situations are designed to promote language and we speak to the children in language appropriate for them.
