Holiday childcare
Play, Fun and Adventure for Children of University Staff and Doctoral Students
The University offers childcare during all public holidays, except for the Christmas holidays. The offer is primarily directed at schoolchildren between 6 and 12 years. Additionally, during the summer holidays, childcare is arranged for kindergarten children between 3 and 6 years. Also in the summer, there is a holiday camp for teenagers aged between 12 and 15.
Each year, the holiday childcare programme for the 6 to 12-year-olds is organized with a particular theme in mind. For example, the children rehearse a circus performance or a theatrical play, shoot a film, solve a detective story, re-live old handicraft trades, build soapboxes racing cars, organize an art exhibition and much more.
The holiday camp for teenagers offers varying activities and excursions such as a geocaching treasure hunt, the construction of a raft and river rafting trip or a visit to a treetop adventure park etc.
The holiday childcare programme for kindergarten children (3-6 years) usually takes place in one of the child care centers of the university. The children play, do handicrafts and go for age-appropriate walks and excursions, e.g. to nearby playgrounds.
If you are interested in the holiday childcare programme, please contact the Family Service for more information.
