Childcare during events

The opportunity to take part in conferences, meetings and other events is another important contribution towards a successful compatibility of family and career. The Family Service supports the university's faculties and institutes in the organisation of their childcare services when planning an event.

• Babysitter Börse by the Studierendenwerk Freiburg
  In the online database run by the Studierendenwerk Freiburg, you can search for suitable caregivers. Registered students with and without qualifications are suggested. Free registration is required for the use of the database, and this gives you immediate access to the information.

Rooms and Equipment

Please note that you must provide adequate accommodations for the childcare services yourself. Ideally, the room should be located close to the event, so that the distance between parents and children is not too far.

The university's staff office for security (Stabsstelle Sicherheit)  will help you in judging whether the chosen rooms are childproof.

From the Family Service, you can receive a kids’ table with small chairs, a carpet, a sitting pillow and a portable changing table to help you set up the room. If interested, please contact us by email or telephone at: familienservice@uni-freiburg.de or 0761/203-4299.

Toy Boxes

In addition to the toys the children bring themselves, you can rent toy boxes with playing material for children between approx. 9 months and 8 years of age. There are games, a marble run, a play kitchen, books, puzzles, a CD player, audiobooks etc.
